Feline Ibs Looking For Opinions Re: Changing Cat Diet For Feline IBS?

Looking for opinions re: changing cat diet for feline IBS? - feline ibs

Hello --

I try the right decision for my two cats, and I am looking for opinions.

Were limited to a food "natural" cat, chicken and rice - I started in the dry form, they were accustomed.

Dietary restriction is due to a food allergy / irritable bowel syndrome. You can eat only very limited ingredients.

She is under a veterinarian care. She had bloody diarrhea, and found the last few weeks of life (The training is looking for "weapons" of steroids in the major, and I think to pay all these drugs, also contribute to "silent" symptoms. My cat is currently in the budesonide, which has helped but not always effective.)

We talked about the advantages of moving to a better quality of canned wet food - I wonder if anyone has seen these issues of food, and could cure by changes in diet to achieve?

Thank you,
I know it's a community out of very friendly cats and here

:)

Grace

I would advise you to go to Yahoo Groups Handicats and join the group, the owners are not well informed and many of IBD is in their cats. You will receive honest answers.

Foster had two cats with IBD. In one case, a grain free canned food does wonders for the cat. I fed Innova Evo, and while she was at home, have minimal impact. Who needs treatment from time to time with a cycle of steroids, but that only happens once or twice a year.

Another cat could be tolerated in any form preserved for reasons that nobody quite understood. And it has been for many veterans, not a question of a veterinarian is not able to solve the problem. You can eat only dry food and the EVO dry. Even if it goes against whatever might be expected, the work it comes in the work for this particular cat. You can also eat too - for reasons unknown - California Natural chicken and rice.

IBD is not clearly understood. In many cats, is a trial and error to see what she can eat and what not to eat. The first thing that does not seem to remove corn, by-products, dyes, preservatives, etc.. Little or no beans, preferably in cans. Streroids not good for the cats, but its usefulness - shPLACE term. A number of them can really address the digestive tract, and relieve darrhea explosives they can get. A vet who wants to create a cycle of steroids try to solve the system is very different from a veterinarian who used long-term without first trying other things.

Good luck with it - it is a problem manageble * * It may take some time to find out how.
